G20

There is going to be a G20 Summit in Washington D.C. starting November 15 to tackle the global economic crisis. What is G20? The following is from Wikipedia.

G20 (Group of economies)

The G20 (Group of 20) is a group representing 19 of the world's largest economies plus the European Union that are strategically important and influencial in the world economy. The G20 represents 90% of global gross national product, 80% of world trade (including EU intra-trade) as well as two-thirds of the world's population.


The G20 is a forum for cooperation and consultation on matters pertaining to the international financial system. It studies, reviews, and promotes discussion among key industrial and emerging market countries of policy issues pertaining to the promotion of international financial stability, and seeks to address issues that go beyond the responsibilities of any one organization.
